Step 1: Export Your Presentation as PDF
Print-File.com prints PDF files directly. Export from your presentation app first:
- PowerPoint: File → Export → Create PDF/XPS, or File → Save As → PDF.
- Google Slides: File → Download → PDF Document (.pdf).
- Keynote (Mac): File → Export To → PDF.
- LibreOffice Impress: File → Export as PDF.
Step 2: Choose a Print Layout Before Exporting
Most presentation apps let you pick what to include in the PDF:
- Full slides: One slide per page — best for reviewing visuals at full size.
- Handouts (2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 slides per page): Compact layout for audience handouts. 3-up with lines is popular for note-taking.
- Notes pages: One slide plus speaker notes below — useful for presenters.
- Outline: Text-only outline of slide titles and bullet points.
In PowerPoint, go to File → Print, set your layout, then choose "Microsoft Print to PDF" or export. In Google Slides, use File → Print preview to check layout before downloading.
Step 3: Print with Print-File.com
- Upload the exported PDF to Print-File.com.
- Preview each page to confirm slides look correct.
- Click Print and choose landscape orientation for full-slide layouts.
- Enable "Background graphics" so slide colors and images print correctly.
Recommended Settings by Use Case
- Full slides for a meeting: Landscape, color, fit to page.
- Handouts for attendees: Export as 4-up or 6-up handout PDF; print portrait to save paper.
- Draft review: Print in grayscale with 2 slides per page.
- Speaker notes: Export as notes pages; print portrait on Letter or A4.
Tips for Clean Slide Output
- Use high-contrast colors — light text on dark backgrounds can use a lot of ink.
- Check the PDF preview before printing a large deck.
- For mixed portrait/landscape slides, export as PDF and print in the orientation that fits most slides.
- Combine with duplex printing for double-sided handouts.
Troubleshooting
- Slides cut off: Use landscape orientation or "Fit to page" scaling.
- Missing backgrounds: Enable "Background graphics" in the print dialog.
- Blurry images: Re-export the PDF at higher quality from the source app.
